The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation has awarded a grant to The Princeton Festival in recognition of its production of Porgy and Bess and in support of its 2015 season.
The Dodge Foundation grant caps the Festival’s most successful season in its 10 year history. The three performances of Porgy and Bess drew unprecedented audiences and enthusiastic critical reviews.
The other events on its 2014 program of jazz, a cappella jazz, chamber and choral music, piano recital, Cuban-flavored band, puppet theater, and showcases for youthful talent continued to build recognition and interest in this annual June three-week celebration of the performing arts.
The Dodge Foundation is a major supporter of the arts in New Jersey, providing grants to organizations that “pursue and demonstrate the highest standards of artistic excellence in the performing and visual arts; enhance the cultural health and richness of New Jersey communities, inspire learning and understanding; and contribute to our state’s creative economy.”
