The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Trenton earlier this year.
Alfonso Inestroza, also known as Franquin Inestroza-Martinez, is charged in the March 17 homicide of Esteban Vicente Sacalxot, 55, of Trenton.
Police responded to the 300 block of Dayton Street around 9:30 p.m. that evening after a report of bullet holes in a residence.
Officers conducting a welfare check discovered Sacalxot inside a connected home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, Inestroza was identified as the suspect and arrest warrants were issued. The U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force is assisting with efforts to locate him.
Inestroza is a Honduran citizen and is believed to have been residing in Trenton. He is described as 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing between 135 and 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
Authorities warn that Inestroza is known to carry handguns and should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, the public is urged to call 911 and not to approach him.
