Plainsboro Library received a grant of $2,”100 from the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission late last month. ##M:[more]## The money will be used for the library’s 10th annual arts festival to be held in September. “It being our 10th anniversary, we are going to pull out all of the stops,” says Ginny Baeckler, the library’s director. “It is always free and we use a lot of local talent, but this time we also want to bring in three big time attractions.”
Zham, a singer who specializes in early Americana, sea shanties, and Celtic music, will perform. There will also be a Chinese historic fashion show, and an Indian broadcasting station based in New Brunswick will be broadcasting live from the festival. “I think the teeny-boppers will like that one a lot,” says Baeckler.
The Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission awarded $163,”800 to 45 arts groups and $29,”450 for 11 groups involved with local arts development.
