Mark Schreiber of Plainsboro will be teaching a one-night class on painting techniques with a little added fun on Friday, May 15, at Ellarslie Mansion in the Trenton Museum. Bring your own wine and learn how to paint with it.
A professional artist for more than 25 years, Schreiber has exhibited in both solo and group shows. He has received awards in national competitions for his creative acrylic paintings, which hang in corporations, museums, government offices, and the homes of many private collectors. A self-taught artist, he is on the board of the Trenton Artist Workshop Association. Shreiber has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a licensed architect.
“Last year Mark was at a plein air event being held at a Old York Vineyards when he decided to use the vineyard’s wine as a medium,” states Shreiber’s bio from his website. “From that moment on he has been creating a body of fine art depicting all aspects of life in fine wine, painting at corporate events, museums, fundraisers, vineyards, and all types of events involving the love of wine.”
He has been invited to paint in wine at a dinner for the cast of “Cougar Town” and another for Turner Broadcasting. His work has been seen on the NBC “Today Show,” and he painted at a dinner gala for Ellarslie Museum. The guests at the events see Schreiber create an entire piece from start to finish using only wine.
