West Windsor-Plainsboro African American Parent Support Group is sponsoring a logo contest for a new logo to be used to commemorate AAPSG’s 25 years of service on behalf of African American children in the school district. The logo contest is open to all students in the school district and the winning logo will be announced on May 18, at the “K-8 Striving for Excellence” program at Grover Middle School, and again on May 20, at the “9-12 Striving for Excellence” program at High School South.
The contest is open to any current WW-P student with the permission of their parent or guardian. The prize is $250. The logo of original artwork, words, symbols and/or a combination of all three, must be based on the BUILD 25th campaign theme and the mission statement of the AAPSG. Dress for Success Mercer County offers mother’s day cards featuring the artwork of Tony LaSalle, a Delaware Valley College professor who maintains a studio in Lambertville. Each card is available for a minimum $10 donation. Cards may be signed with your name and sent to the recipient with a note that she has been honored by your donation. The organization has served more than 700 low-income women with outfits for job search attire and business attire and accessories free of charge. Deadline is Monday, May 3.
Boys & Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County seeks volunteers to condition donated bicycles, sell bicycles, or help market the bicycles that have been donated. The bike exchange is an all-volunteer effort that accepts donated kids and adult bikes, put the bikes in working orders, and sells them in the Capitol Plaza Shopping Center on Olden Avenue, in Trenton.
