The OnStage Theatre group is set to present ‘Live with That.’
OnStage theater group is set to take a look at some of life’s decisions in Live With That, its new show of original monologues and short scenes.
The group is scheduled to present Live With That 7:30 p.m. May 17 at the Arts Council of Princeton’s Paul Robeson Center, 102 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
Drawn from interviews with residents of Mercer and Somerset counties, Live With That examines the serious and funny decisions that shape and reshape lives — everything from starting college at age 40, to moving your mother to a nursing home, to dealing with your daughter’s less-than-acceptable date.
A post-show discussion that about issues raised will follow the performance.
Now in its sixth year, OnStage is an ensemble of 15 players over 60 years old, and works under the direction of Adam Immerwahr, associate artistic director at McCarter Theatre in Princeton and resident director at Passage Theatre in Trenton.
The ensemble likes to call itself “the public face of positive aging through theater,” both by showing what seniors can do and by gathering the stories of senior experience of interest to the whole community.
ACP executive director Jeff Nathanson noted that “last year’s performance by OnStage sold out and this year we are expecting even more interest in what has become a valued community effort to capture stories that reflect the joys and frustrations of aging.”
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for members, children and seniors. Tickets are available on ACP’s website, artscouncilofprinceton.org, and at the door.
