James Farrell, 57, a former West Windsor resident, died October 3. He worked for the New Jersey Intensive Supervision Program.

Marjorie E. Harwood, 91, a former West Windsor resident, died October 4, in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Survivors include three sons, Britton Harwood, of Glendale, Ohio, Robert Harwood of Palm Harbor, Florida, and David Harwood of Wayne; a daughter, Eileen Harwood Beam of Cranbury; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean M. Franks, 85, died October 10, in Berks Heim, Pennsylvania. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Keith Franks and Donna Munde of West Windsor.
Alexander Milton Rothenberg, 80, of Vilonia, Arkansas, died October 10. Survivors include a son, Andrew Rothenberg of Plainsboro.
Emil J. Gavalchin, age 78, former West Windsor resident, died October 11 at Southern Ocean County Hospital. He retired in 1987 after 20 years as a research technician with RCA-General Electric. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the American Legion, Princeton Junction.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Schuster Gavalchin; three sons, John, James, and Robert; two daughters, Jerrie Gavalchin and Bette Lee Farber; and 11 grandchildren.
Anne Morris, 83, died October 13 at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Claire Morris of West Windsor. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Denville 07834.
Garnet Kirkpatrick, 92, died October 13 in Newark, Delaware. He worked for the WW-P School District for 20 years. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Thomas Mellor and their daughter, Ashley, all of Middletown, DE; his brother, Thomas, and his sister, Pauline.
Leola Butler, 94, of Earlysville, Virginia, died October 14 in Charlottesville, VA. Born in Plainsboro, she was a longtime resident of Rocky Hill prior to moving to Virginia. Survivors include her two sons, Robert A. Butler of Earlysville, VA and Kenneth Butler of Whiting; sister Lillian Durling of Rocky Hill; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Albert Minzter, M.D., 80, of West Windsor died at home on October 15. Minzter lived in Newark, Elizabeth, and Westfield before moving to West Windsor six years ago.
A Phi Beta Kappa cum laude graduate of Princeton University, Class of 1946, he earned a medical degree in 1950 from Johns Hopkins. His residencies in chest diseases were at Yale New Haven, Bellevue, and NYU hospitals. Minzter served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He had a private practice in internal medicine and pulmonology in Elizabeth and Roselle Park for 30 years, and then became medical director of the Executive Health Group in Morristown for 10 years. He was the founder and director of the Union County Tuberculosis League; past president of the New Jersey chapter of the American College of Chest Physicians; and a former attending physician at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Leatrice; daughters Beth Minzter and Susan Minzter; son Ronald Minzter; his sister, Frances Wortzel; and two grandchildren.
