Michael Foley, a junior at High School North and a member of FIRST received a dean’s list award at the world championships. Selected from more than 130 world-wide finalists based upon his leadership skills, commitment to FIRST ideals, contributions to his team, and his effectiveness in increasing awareness of FIRST within their schools and communities, he is the first and only New Jersey honoree.
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a not-for-profit organization founded by inventor Dean Kamen. Winners receive a written recommendation from FIRST to the colleges or employers of their choice, and an invitation to attend an expenses-paid trip to the FIRST Award Winners Summit this summer. The MidKnight Inventors Robotics Team also receives $1,000.
