Newly appointed YMCA Membership and Marketing Director Ned Kane.
Princeton Family YMCA CEO Kate Bech announced the appointment of Ned Kane of Lambertville as Membership and Marketing Director.
He is set to succeed Natasha Schiller, a ten-year veteran of the organization who is relocating out of the area.
Kane, a native of Ohio, lived and worked in New York City for several years, leading and supporting the marketing and public relations for several major watch companies including the Movado Group, Inc., Swatch Group US, Inc. and Victorinox Swiss Army, Inc.
On the non-profit side, he worked earlier in his career as a marketing associate for the University of Michigan Museum of Art, interned with the Museum of Modern Art and most recently, served as a director in development and alumni relations for Columbia Law School.
Kane earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan and M.A. from New York University in Communications.
Kane said he is very excited to be joining the YMCA and is eager to lead the charge in promoting and marketing the YMCA’s newly renovated space.
“The Princeton Family YMCA will soon have a brand new Wellness Center which will be a vibrant new fitness space for the entire community. I am hugely excited to invite and welcome new members to enjoy our renovated facility,” Kane said in a statement.
Members of Princeton Family YMCA Board of Directors have been raising capital funds for the last 12 months to create an updated Wellness Center in the YMCA-YWCA Athletic Building. The YMCA is set to begin the work on June 17 with project management provided by the Yedlin Company, a Princeton-based commercial contractor.
Called “Project Jumpstart”, the renovation is set to improve the existing facility by knocking down walls to create a modern, open space featuring a centralized area for new cardio equipment, strength training and free weights. It marks the first major construction at the facility in 40 years.
The project is expected to take 12 weeks, during which the YMCA will remain operational.
