Two Grover Middle School seventh grade students recently received awards in the New Jersey Music Teachers Association for Young Musicians competition. Paul von Autenried, Jr. took first place in the piano competition for the second consecutive year. Min Jeh Lee, a clarinet player, received second place in the Woodwinds Competition for Woodwinds.##M:[more]##
Von Autenried also received honorable mention at the Junior Level of the Music Teachers National Association competition held at Rowan University in November. A student of Chiu-Tze Lin, of Manalapan, for the past three years, he studied with Ray Landers of Yardley, Pennsylvania, for the previous five years. At Grover Middle School he plays the cello in the Chamber Orchestra, is a member of the student council, and a yearbook designer.
Lee is a student of Ken Ellison. Both musicians live in West Windsor.
