West Windsor-Plainsboro Education Foundation has received a donation of $2,”227 from Merrill Lynch to support four innovative mini-grant educational programs in the school district.##M:[more]## “We are thrilled to have a new partner in our mission to foster educational excellence in the WW-P schools,” says Marcia Smith Fleres, WWPEF executive director. The four mini-grants being funded are:
Home Reading “Just Right’ Books, Janet Bowes, Town Center Elementary School. This project will enable students who are reading below grade level to bring home appropriate leveled books on a nightly basis.
Speech and Language Mini-Computer Lab, Bonnie Engle Lee, Dutch Neck Elementary School. This lab affords the ability to group children for individualized instruction and fosters differentiated instruction by allowing children with speech disabilities to work intensively on goals and objectives.
Videos for Parent Connection Lending Library, Karen Kelley, Special Services. This grant will purchase special education videos to enhance the lending library for parents of children with special needs.
Student Listening Centers, Laura Bruce, Wicoff Elementary School. Children will use the student listening centers to listen, interact, and interpret music that is beyond the classroom.
