It has been confirmed that Steve Mayer will be the next administrator from the WW-P school district to leave, but he is not going far. He is the finalist in the superintendent search at Robbinsville, the school board there said in a press release.##M:[more]##
Mayer, who is the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction at WW-P, is expected to be appoint by the Robbinsville School Board on Tuesday, April 28.
Mayer joined the WW-P district as the principal of the new Thomas Grover Middle School, which opened in 1999. He served as principal there for eight years before serving as assistant superintendent, which he has done for the past two years.
Mayer says he is proud of the faculty and staff at Grover Middle School. “The culture that they’ve been able to establish and maintain there is really a positive thing for the community,” he said.
He said the thought of leaving the WW-P school district is bittersweet because “the team of administrators is really one of the finest I’ve seen assembled in education, and not being part of this team certainly has its bittersweet aspect to it.”
The opportunity in Robbinsville, he says, is exciting because it is a community that has gone through rapid growth in recent years and is “really positioned to rival some of the best school districts in the state. At this time, it seems like a good fit and an opportunity we’ll have together to really impact the schools and turn the community in a positive way.”
