Warren E. Cottrell, 85, of Exeter died April 18 at his home. Survivors include his son, Robert W. Cottrell of Plainsboro.
Bernhard J. Schaffler, 73, of Ocean County died April 21 at Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Rhonda Schaffler Wydra and John Wydra Sr. of West Windsor. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1959, he was the supervising attorney for the Army Corp of Engineers, assistant U.S. Attorney, clerk of the U.S. District Court of Western Pennsylvania. From 1976 to 1980 he was named U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

John F. Ambos, 87, of Tinton Falls died April 22 at home. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Campbell of Plainsboro.
Ambos, a graduate of Rutgers University, Class of 1942, was a licensed professional engineer. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve, was commissioned in 1943, and served as executive officer on patrol vessels on escort and anti-submarine operations in the Caribbean and the Pacific. A participant in the Rutgers Oral History Archives, he was a longtime commanding officer of Naval Reserve Surface Division 3-40 in Perth Amboy.
Visitation will be held at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield, on Monday, May 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in William C. Joan Bacchetti, 76, of West Windsor died April 23 in Princeton. She was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

Nat C. Robertson, 88, of Plainsboro died April 24 at home. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia.
A graduate of Emory University, Class of 1939, he received a doctorate in chemistry from Princeton University in 1942 and later served as director of several companies. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty; children Henry, Mandy, and Paul; and granddaughters Julia Cavalier and Elinor Keith.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. No flowers. Donations may be made to Emory University.
Evelyn B. Wasileski, 91, of Wilmington, NC died April 26 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC. She worked at Acme in West Windsor for 28 years.
Margaret Anne Wilby, 48, of West Windsor died April 26 at her home. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, and raised in Wappingers Falls. She received both undergraduate and master’s degrees in business from Pace University. She moved to New Jersey in 1985.
Survivors include her husband Peter; her children, Brian, James, Nora, Emma, and Kyla; her parents, John and Eileen Masterson; brothers Thomas and Richard; sisters Kathleen, Jackie, and Maureen; sisters and brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Wilby was a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, baseball coach, lacrosse coach, hockey team manager, and soccer team manager. She was affiliated with Dutch Neck Presbyterian Nursery School, Chapin School, Peddie School, and was a prep teacher at St. David the King Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 2, 10 a.m., at St. David the King Catholic Church in West Windsor, followed by a committal and burial at Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
