Kidsbridge invites principals, superintendents, and teachers in Mercer County to nominate a child, a group of children, or a colleague that has demonstrated an extraordinary act of kindheartedness, service to the community, peaceful resolution of conflict, or compassion for the less fortunate. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, March 23. Awards will be made to individuals, to small groups, and a teacher, a guidance counselor, and a principal who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in character education. Winning students, family members, and nominating teachers will be honored guests at the 2007 Kidsbridge Young Humanitarian Awards Ceremony and Family Festival to be held in late May. Princeton Center for Yoga & Health is conducting a research study for individuals with multiple sclerosis. Elizabeth Harper, a doctoral student at New York University’s department of therapeutic recreation, will investigate the effects of two different recreation activities on respiratory muscle strength, posture, fatigue, and quality of life. Freehold Center Partership launched a statewide talent search for the Freehold Idol. Auditions will be held on 10 consecutive Wednesdays, beginning June 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Freehold.
