Plainsboro resident Padmini Srinivasan, 11, hosted an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Aug. 6 at Indus American Bank on Schalks Crossing Road to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

After seeing what Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation does for kids in need, Srinivasan was inspired to host her own stand to help. Besides lemonade, Srinivasan sold Romeo’s pizza, hot bagels and brownies from Bagel Street Grill, and donuts and munchkins from Dunkin Donuts.

Meanwhile, on Sept. 18, Asmita Baskar, a junior at High School North will be participating in a walk to raise money to research a cure for ovarian cancer.
