A ball field at West Windsor Community Park was recently named in the memory of Ruby Chiang, a township woman who was killed in a car accident last year.
Chiang was involved in township youth athletics, including as a coach of the West Windsor Ninjas travel softball team and as a parent in the soccer association. Over the past year, friends and supporters raised some $50,000 to help pay for improvements to the field, including a scoreboard, two bullpens and new bases.
The field was named the Ruby Shiau Chiang Memorial Field.
Chiang died in July 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident that occurred as the car in which she was a passenger was hit by another vehicle at the entrance to Community Park.
