Princeton Public Library set to launch weekly screenings of Season 4 of the British period drama Downton Abbey with a formal afternoon tea.
Called CommuniTea, the event is being presented by tea aficionados Roz Batt and Greta Villere. The presenters are set to explain how to make a perfect “cuppa,” as some of Downton’s staff may say, be it black, oolong or green tea. The event also features scones, finger sandwiches and socializing.
Batt, born and raised in the county of Kent in England, created an intimate Tea Club to share her passion for tea with newfound friends when she moved to Princeton. Villere was an original member.
Their friendship and interest took them to the World Tea Expo to explore all things tea, and last summer they visited Provence to enjoy the French art of taking tea.
CommuniTea is scheduled for 3 p.m June 22 in the library’s community room, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
Participation in Communitea! is limited to 30 adults. Registration is required through the events calendar on the library’s web site.
Screenings of Downton Abbey, which is part of Masterpiece Classics on PBS, are scheduled to begin 2 p.m. June 24, and continue weekly through July 29, in the Community Room.
