Princeton Public Library is set to offer a program to help rising freshman get a head start on “The Odyssey.”
Princeton High School teacher Margaret Spear is set to present a two-hour workshop on Homer’s epic poem, which is is required reading for PHS freshmen.
Students should come prepared to move, play and travel around Ancient Greece through their imagination and Homer’s words.
Registration is required and can be completed through the library’s website, princetonlibrary.org. Participation is limited to 25.
The workshop is scheduled to begin 4 p.m. July 11 in the library’s Community Room.
A week-long drama workshop based on “The Odyssey” is set for Aug. 19 through 23.
The workshop revolves around Anon(ymous), a contemporary play by Naomi Iizuka. It is set to culminate in two public performances of the play on Aug. 23.
Director and playwright Brandon Monokian and actress Kaitlin Overton are set to lead students in examining source material for the play in preparation for their performances.
Workshops are three hours a day.
Enrollment is limited to 25 and a commitment for the entire week is required. Registration is online.
