To the Editor:
Election Aftermath
Now that the dust of West Windsor’s election is settling, I would seek the resolution and enlightenment of the following:##M:[more]##
(1.) West Windsor residents have clamored for additional commuter parking for several years. Aware that one candidate has said he can deliver a “free” (at no cost to West Windsor taxpayers) parking garage at the Princeton Junction train station, could we commence that action without delay?
(2.) In a call for the increased/improved communications with residents, we were told of high-level communications with builder-developer Richard Dreher. Since title records do not indicate a property transfer for Windsor Plaza, could the residents and community be apprised of A.) The Windsor (Acme) Plaza plans; and B.) The Rite Aid Corner
(3.) What is the disposition of the Ellsworth Center 2 project which has languished since 1992? I understood a building permit was issued for one of the two buildings. Should this facility not also be boarded up to preclude additional window damage?
(4.) What is the status of the University Square commercial office building (Route 1 North @ Alexander Road) which has been empty since its construction?
What are the negotiations with NJ Transit for placement of the Dinky stop within that empty parking lot as an immediate near-term relief for commuter parking?
(5.) What is the specific timetable for conclusion of the $351,”000 West Windsor Arts Council restoration project?
(6.) Aware of a $100,”000 cost over-run of the WW Municipal Senior Citizens Center, what is the expected date of conclusion?
(7.) What is the state of negotiations and proposals with the bankrupt owner of the 653-acre Wyeth/Cyanamid/ General Growth Properties which contributes $400,”000 per year in taxes, down from over $2 million per year when in full operation?
(8.) Council passed capital appropriations in excess of $1 million for the restoration of the former Hawk Schoolhouse, bathroom facilities, and the barn restoration at the Schenck Historic Farmstead. What approximate date will these approvals result in completions?
(9.) When will the township effect and disclose the amount of cost-savings from twice-a-week garbage pick-up (Memorial Day through Labor Day) to once-a-week pickup year-round?
(10.) Updates of the Goldin/InterCap lawsuit filed against the Township.
(11.) Dates specific for the remediation of the Alexander Road S-Curve.
As part of recent political promises for greater communication within the community, could we please be enlightened with the reality of specific responses? Thank you. Pete Weale
Former Mayoral Candidate,

From West Windsor First:
We are grateful to the West Windsor voters for their overwhelming support of our candidacies. We ran a positive campaign of accomplishments and vision for the future. AOL’s NeighborhoodScout got it right when they ranked West Windsor the “number one family-friendly neighborhood” in the nation.
West Windsor is such a wonderful place to live for people of all ages. Our community’s spirit and countless hours of volunteerism contribute to our sustainable efforts of working together toward common goals and future initiatives. We will continue to reach out and listen to all of your differing viewpoints and strive to build consensus with the challenges ahead.
We thank everyone for taking the time to vote and look forward to working with all of you to make West Windsor an even greater place in which to live.
