Laura Sanders has returned to West Windsor to open her new business, Lasting Impressions Daycare. A graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, Class of 2000, she had moved to Virginia to study elementary education in college.
Born at Princeton Hospital, she moved to West Windsor when she was three years old. Her mother, Joan Sanders, works for Thomson Licensing in Princeton. Her father, David Sanders, works for Sarnoff Corporation. Her sister, Jennifer Sanders, graduated from WW-P High School South, Class of 2002.##M:[more]##
Her husband, Henry Ryan, works for an engineering company as an HVAC designer. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Freehold when they met during Sanders’ senior year in high school.
During high school Sanders participated in the youth teaching youth program and worked with Linda Bugher, a first grade teacher at Maurice Hawk School. She has a Child Development Certificate, a credential required for home childcare. Sanders, who is first aide and CPR certified, is registered through New Jersey’s Childcare Connection.
“The reason for our move back to New Jersey, after living in Virginia for the past six years, was to return to our families and to start our own family,” she says. “I found moving to be bitter sweet however I had a number of children in my care in Virginia that had been with me since birth and leaving them to come here was very difficult.”
Sanders offers child care services for infants to school age children, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Her preschool program includes story time, dramatic play, and arts and crafts.
