Mayor Dave Fried announced the winners of the “Keep it Local, Robbinsville’’ Art Contest.
The mayor asked elementary, middle and high school students to create a poster that illustrates the message “Keep your Money Where your Heart is – Keep it Local Robbinsville.”
Winners were selected from more than 50 entries based on a viewer poll on the Keep it Local, Robbinsville Facebook page.
The elementary school level winner is Ashley Roberts, a first grader at Sharon School.
Pond Road sixth grade student Kaylee McEvoy won the middle school level.
Allison Kroepfl, a 10th grade student at Robbinsville High School won the highest level.
Each winner is set to be presented with their prizes, which includes a pizza party and gifts donated by V.C. Salon and other locally owned businesses.
Winning posters are set to be used to promote Keep It Local, Robbinsville, which officially launches at Robbinsville Community Day in June. The posters will be displayed in local business, buildings and online.
Mayor Fried congratulated the students for creating visuals that convey the message of the campaign.
“Robbinsville Township has embarked on an effort to encourage residents to shop locally and use local vendors for the services they use,” Mayor Fried said in a statement, “we are excited about the launch of this program to keep businesses, residents and local charities all supporting each other and all the students did a beautiful job.”
The Keep it Local, Robbinsville is scheduled to launch in April.
