Harry C. Baker, 92, of Munster, Indiana died June 9. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Baker and Suzanne McSorley of West Windsor; and granddaughters Katherine, Margaret, and Colleen Baker of West Windsor.
Mary F. Wright, 83, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died June 10 at Virginia Beach Estates Assisted Living. Born in New York City, she was a resident of West Windsor for 52 years before moving last October to be near her daughter.
After graduating from Washington Irving High School, New York City, Wright passed on a chance to work for the New York Yankees because she “hated to take dictation.” She worked for Jersey Central Railroad and later for the First National Bank of Princeton for many years. She volunteered with the Dutch Neck Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary and with the West Windsor Senior Center.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Sue and Stuart Pleasants of Virginia Beach, Virgina; son and daughter-in-law Willard (Wilbo) Wright Jr. and Tricia Fagan of West Windsor; two grandchildren, Kate and Jack Pleasants; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Dante of Sanford, Florida and Jean Mokros of Lambertville; and many nieces and nephews.
Gladys Wellhauser Hambleton, 87, died June 15 in her North Carolina home. She was born in Plainsboro. Survivors include a sister, Katherine Zimmer, of New Jersey; a son James Hambleton Jr., Clemmons, North Carolina; two daughters, Helen Hambleton, of the home and Alice H. Ammons, High Point; grandchildren, Renee, Faye, and Travis Whitlock, of the home, Mary Rowan, and Bruce Hutchins; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Seymour E. Siegel, 85, of Plainsboro died June 16 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in the Bronx, New York, Siegel was a former resident of Elizabeth. A graduate of City College of New York and Rutgers University Law School, he practiced in Plainsboro, was a member of the American Bar Association, and an arbitrator in the N.J. Superior Court. He was a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar and was recently honored by the Middlesex County Bar Association for his service.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a life-member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Mr. Siegel wrote the constitution and bylaws for the U.S. Army 16th Cavalry Association and received a citation award for distinguished service from the Army.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Berman Siegel; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Siegel of Plainsboro; three grandchildren, David, Jamie, and Matthew; and his pet companion, Lylah. Donations may be made to Congregation Beth Chaim.
John V. Hill, 87, of York Springs died June 16 in Gettysburg Choice. Survivors include a sister, Janet Everett of West Windsor. Donations may be made to Mt. Olivet UCC Memorial Fund, 265 Two Churches Road, East Berlin, PA 17316.
Joseph A. Petrovia, 91, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania died June 18 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. He served two tours of active duty in the U.S. Army, the first during World War II and the second during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John and Susan Kelley of West Windsor, with whom he resided at the time of his death; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian Kelley and his wife Julie Medalis of Baltimore, Maryland, Denise and John Raymond of Dowingtown, Pennsylvania, Monique and Hakim Tucker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Thomas Norville of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; and great-grandfather of Olivia and Adam Kelley, Aidan, Mackenzie, and Dylan Raymond, Brandon Pridgen, Christopher Tucker and Amaya Tucker.
