If you look quickly at the announcements posted by the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District on its website, you might think that the district is seeking replacements for Tom Smith, Russel Schumacher, Nancy Catalina, and Gerri Hutner.
In fact, all four administrators will remain with the district next year, and will be given new responsibilities, job descriptions, and titles. All schools are required to make public announcement of new positions and job openings.
Smith, who was formerly director of pupil services and planning, will be assistant superintendent of pupil services and planning. His job description remains the same, and Smith says at this point he doesn’t know what new responsibilities he will take on.
Schumacher will remain special assistant for labor relations. His position will now include legislative oversight. Catalina, formerly known as the computer support specialist, is now known as communications support specialist.
Hutner, who formerly was the District’s public information officer, is now the director of communications. The new title comes with the added responsibility of seeking and pursuing grants for the district.
All four administrators remain in the same salary and contract structure that they had prior to the change in title.
