Artists from Hawk and a Rededication
The Sovereign Bank on Princeton-Hightstown and Southfield roads in West Windsor will become a “gallery” to display the artwork of students from Maurice Hawk School, under the direction of art teacher Tina Carr.
An artists reception for the artists from grades 1 to 3 will be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 7 p.m. The show, on display through May, will be judged and awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m.
Another important milestone in the history of Maurice Hawk Elementary School was marked on Wednesday, March 31, with a rededication ceremony attended by students, parents, school officials, and township officials.
The school, built in 1959, was named after a West Windsor native, Maurice H. Hawk, a former school board member, 40 years ago.
The school’s PTA assembled a permanent display featuring memorabilia about Hawk. Vice President Christine Zelnick organized the rededication. Resident Karen Bhame contributed memorabilia to the existing exhibit.
