Gamblers and the Salvation Army will take over High School North on Saturday, March 3, at 8 p.m. when “Guys and Dolls” opens for a two-weekend run. The musical tells the tale of Nathan Detroit, the organizer of the oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York, who bets fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he can’t make the next girl he sees fall in love with him.##M:[more]##
The original Broadway production opened in 1950 and was revived in 1965, 1976, and 1992. The story is based on Damon Runyon’s “The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown.” Popular songs from the musical include “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” “A Bushel and a Peck,” and “My Time of Day.”##M:[more]##
