West Windsor Planning Board Chairman Marvin Gardner has been named to the Board of Trustees at Mercer County Community College. Gardner will serve a three year term on the 10-member board.##M:[more]##
Prior to retirement, Gardner had a career as an attorney. He is a member of the Bar of various jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of the United States. He served as counsel to the Joint Legislative Committee on Court Reorganization of the New York State Legislature and also served as Assistant District Attorney for Kings County, N.Y.
Gardner has roots in education as well. He was a teacher in New York City for eight years from 1957 to 1965. He was later an adjunct professor of business law at Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York.
In his own education, he graduated with a bachelor of the arts from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York in 1957 and went on to earn his law degree from Brooklyn Law School four years later. Mr. Gardner also earned a Master of Laws degree in 1965 and a Master’s degree in Urban Administration and Policy Analysis in 1975.
Gardner has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the national Fellowship for Educational Leadership and a Certificate of Appreciation from the President of the United States. He lives in Village Grande with his wife, Ellie.
