Thank you, Robbinsville.
I find myself saying that quite a bit, and I hope it never gets old.
With over $50,000 raised via our 2017 State of Robbinsville Address and Pay it Forward Event, which was held May 9 in front of a packed house at the Hilton Garden Inn, we will be able to give the evening’s guest of honor, Sharon School teacher Deb Dauer, a home that is more accessible as she continues her courageous battle with ALS.
The list of people top thank for perhaps the most successful of our Pay it Forward events since 2015 is too long for even this space. The gratitude we feel for Ms. Dauer and the entire Dauer family for allowing us into your lives is literally overwhelming. It is an honor to know all of you.
To Master of Ceremonies Jeannine Cimino and the MidJersey Chamber, Ability Tree Inc. and all of our event sponsors, especially our Hometown Hero/$5,000 contributor David Bradley Chocolatier, what can I say except our hearts are full? Companies and organizations such as Matrix Development, Legacy Treatment Services, Raajipo, Amazon, Robbinsville Chrysler, Berkshire Bank, PJ’s Pancake House, MH Pharma America and Meridia Development/Capodagli Family really drove this year’s event to the finish line.
The unsung heroes include my wife, Kathryn, and my staff, which worked feverishly to prepare for our biggest night of the year. Locally owned Joseph A. Halsey Construction, who is donating so much of his time and resources to making the Dauer home more accessible, has been true gentleman and a pleasure to work with. Thanks to Ken Blando of Pulse Productions and Catherine “Cie” Stroud for preserving the moments with your camera, audio and video skills.
Thanks to all the residents, dignitaries and other business owners who donated, either with dinner tickets or blindly as a gift. In addition to announcing a second straight year of municipal tax cuts, hundreds more acres acquired and dedicated to open space, and some exciting new ratables on the horizon, our Pay it Forward event also directed another $5,500 to the 11 charities in our Keep it Local network, bringing that total to $10,500 since 2016.
Events such as May 9 are why I look forward to running for another term as mayor. As I said in my speech “the opportunity to serve Robbinsville has been an honor and a privilege.”
There are still a great many things we want to accomplish.
