The Princeton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau and Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the first annual Toast to Tourism Awards, scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Grounds for Sculpture. The ceremony is set to include an introduction from Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, who will address the importance of Tourism in the Princeton Mercer region and in the state of New Jersey.
The Awards Breakfast will honor leaders in the tourism industry who have enhanced and expanded tourism through their enthusiasm, passion and dedication, and have made a significant promotional and economic impact in the industry in the Princeton-Mercer Region. The Salute to Service Award will be presented to Phyllis Oppenheimer of the New Jersey State Department of Travel and Tourism; The Tribute to Tourism Award recipient is Trenton Thunder. The Praise for Performance Award will be presented to two exemplary frontline employees who have demonstrated superior service above and beyond the call of duty. This year’s honorees will be Sivian Ben-Gad of the Peacock Inn and Larry Ciccione of the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal.
In addition to the three award presentations, Brian Tyrell of Stockton College will present the 2014 Economic Impact of Tourism in the Princeton Region study. County Executive Brian Hughes will also present the new Mercer County Branding Campaign, designed by the Princeton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau in conjunction with Mercer County and EFK Group.
The event is anticipated to attract 150 tourism and business professionals. Tickets are $50 each and include breakfast provided by Rat’s Restaurant, attendance at the Awards Program and free admission to Grounds for Sculpture for the day of the event.
