Jim Erickson, the director of Christian Life at Princeton Presbyterian Church, led the senior and junior high youth groups in a 30-hour famine, a movement sponsored by World Vision to fight world hunger. The youth fasted from Thursday, March 6, at midnight, to Saturday, March 8 at 7 a.m. to raise their awareness of what many of the world’s population struggle with on a daily basis — hunger. The youth went door to door, and called friends, neighbors, and relatives to raise money. Through the efforts they raised $4,”202 for World Vision.##M:[more]##
During the fast the group held a lock-in at the church where they participated in activities, projects, and prayer. They assembled 100 lunches to be distributed to Trenton’s homeless by Church Street Ministries. Group members also sorted clothes at Homefront’s FreeStore and helped a family move to a new home.
The church, located on 545 Meadow Road, invites youth on Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Visit www.princetonpresbyterian.org or call 609-987-1166 for information.
