Princeton United Methodist Church is set to host a silent auction for its annual summer service trip with Appalachia Service Project on April 13.
A week in Key West, a flat in London, sports tickets and designer clothes are some of the items up for bid at the event set for 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, 7 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
Tickets are $5 and include dinner.
All proceeds are set to benefit the trip, during which volunteers spend a week in an Appalachian town working to improve homes. Preparation for the trip is an eight-month process that includes learning Appalachian culture and the poverty many face, basic construction skills and the meaning of service to others.
The PUMC youth program welcomes non-church-member and member teens to participate in Sunday morning classes and youth choir and Sunday evening fellowship.
