Howard H. Pomeranz, D.D.S., 77, died January 27 at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Survivors include a sister, Avis Kniffin of West Windsor.
A graduate of Hamilton College and the Penn School of Dental Medicine, he was a professor of endodontics at New Jersey Dental School and had a private practice.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 1, at 12:30 p.m., at the NJ Dental School, UMDNJ, Oral Health Pavilion, 50 12th Avenue, Newark. Valet parking will be available. Bessie Hudes, 88, of West Windsor died February 6. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived in Village Grande.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Matthew and Qui Hudes and Ellen and Michael Schwartz, and four grandchildren, Colette and Simon Hudes, and Adam and Daniel Schwartz.
A graduate of Columbia University, she received master’s degrees from William Paterson College and the College of New Jersey. She was an employment counselor with the State of New Jersey for many years.

Constance A. (Miritello) Dunne, 97, of Monroe died February 6. A registered nurse with a master’s degree in public health education, she was a health educator for Nassau County. Following the death of her son she became an advocate for suicide prevention and survivor support.

Roland Owen Laird Jr., 52, died February 7 at the University Medical Center at Plainsboro. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in West Windsor from 1998 to 2005.
A graduate of Brown University, he received a master’s degree from the New York Institute of Technology. He worked at Swiss American Securities, Amarex Technology, Dow Jones & Company, and AT&T. He was the co-owner and CEO of My Image Studios LLC and the owner of Posro Media in Trenton.
He held many volunteer and board positions including Passage Theater Company; the New Jersey Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Commission; the I Am Trenton Community; and the Ethel Tremaine Robinson Foundation.
Survivors include his wife, Taneshia Nash Laird; two daughters, Imani and Naima Laird; his parents, Annis (Mearl) and Roland Laird Sr. of South Brunswick; his sister, Jeanne Halyard, Maryland; nieces, aunts, and uncles. Donations may be made to www.giveforward.com/inmemoryofrolandlaird.
Paul Peter Pcolar, 90, of Edison died February 7 at JFK Medical Center. He served in Army during World War II. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Joseph Bisio of Plainsboro; and grandson, Roland Bisio of Plainsboro.
John H. Mahr, 88, of Avenel died February 15 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. Survivors include a son, John R. Mahr of Plainsboro.
Helen P. Scheideler, 90, of West Windsor died February 16 at University Medical Center at Plainsboro. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of West Windsor since 1960. She was employed with Westinghouse, the State of New Jersey, ETS, and Scheideler Excavating Company.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James J. Scheideler; her four children, Teresa and her husband, Mario Musso, Karen Scheideler, James and his wife, Cindy Scheideler, and Cheryl Ann Scheideler; her grandson, James Scheideler; and a sister-in-law, Lydia Boruta.

Harold P. White, 103, of Chatham and Surf City died February 19. He was born in Plainsboro.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University. He began his career with Walker Gordon Dairy in Plainsboro. He was later employed at Sheffield Farms, Puritan Dairy, Johanna Farms, and Tuscan Dairy.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Judy Laaksonen of Pennsylvania, and Wendy O’Connor and Edward Quinn of Surf City; a sister, Margaret Corless; sister-in-law, Jeanne Estabrooke; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Margaret Brabson Wesp, 92, a lifelong resident of Kingston, died February 21 at home.
