Karen J. Young, 42, of Laurence Harbor died April 29. A former Plainsboro resident, she is survived by her husband of 16 years, Michael A.Young; her sons, Ryan and Logan; her mother, Joan Collender; her brother, Richard Mayer; and her sister, Kristine Cecil.
Margaret L. Crawford, 68, of Plainsboro died April 30. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She was an electronics specialist with Quantum Electronics in Trenton for 15 years.
Survivors include her children Jesse L. Crawford Jr. and his wife, Victoria Crawford, Dorisa Crawford, and Jenise C. Crawford-Brown and her husband, James Brown; her grandchildren: Jessica V. Crawford, Jacqueline G. Crawford, Jenay R. Crawford, Norman Crawford and his wife, Aiesha Crawford, Lakera Crawford, Tiera Crawford, Dyveria Crawford, Kadja Crawford, J’von Brown, Phillip Brown, Tre’ Brown, and Princess K. Brown, Marie R. Marshall and her husband Lamar M. Marshall, Antoine Clovin and his wife Karleen Clovin, Rayshawn Clovin, Maryland P. Crawford, and Mathew R. Crawford; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Richard L. Munson, 81, of Plainsboro died in Merwick Care and Rehab Center in Plainsboro on May 1. Born in Jamaica, New York, he lived in Scarsdale and Ossining, New York, before moving to Plainsboro in 2007.
A graduate of Penn Military Academy with a bachelor’s degree, he retired as an officer from the Army Special Forces (Green Beret). Former president of the Scarsdale Golf Club, he was a member of the Tournament Players Club at Jasna Polana.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Linda J. Munson; three children, Wendy Munson of Scarsdale, New York, Melissa H. Munson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Mark L. Munson of Nashville, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Mary Grace and Anna M. Munson, both of Nashville, Tennessee, and two sisters, Suzanne Munson of Phoenix, Arizona, and Desire Munson Smith of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.

Franklin Goroff, 86, of Las Vegas, died May 2. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Kreisman of West Windsor.
Fredric R. Goldstein, 66, of West Windsor died at home May 3. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from Brooklyn College, a master’s degree from Miami University, and his doctorate degree from Rutgers University. A professor of geology for more than 30 years at the College of New Jersey, Goldstein was an adjunct professor at Bucks County Community College, Rider College, and Thomas A. Edison State College.
He worked closely with NASA to form a partnership with the College of New Jersey by bringing moon rocks to the campus. He worked with former Governor Thomas Kean on Project Pride of New Jersey’s Governor’s Award Panel. Goldstein received the John H. Moss Award for Excellence in College Teaching and a Faculty Salute for Courage, Creativity, and Commitment to Higher Education from the American Association of Higher Education.
He was the founder of the Geological Association of New Jersey and the North American Geological Academic Alliance Program and sat on the New Jersey Academic Alliance Program sponsored by the Department of Higher Education. Goldstein was also the author of books and workbooks and served as a reviewer of articles for the Journal of Geology.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his daughters, Mindy Knapp and Laurie Padron; sons-in-law, Jeff Knapp and Mario E. Padron Jr.; his grandchildren, Molly, Jack, and Emily Knapp; his brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Ellie Goldstein; and his sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Scott Passen.

Eugene Skorulski, 88, of New Hartford, New York died May 7. Samuel J. Shuren, 85, of Whiting died May 8 at Whiting Healthcare Center. Born in Hightstown, he was a resident of Penns Neck for 40 years before moving to Whiting in 1996. A World War II Navy veteran, Shuren retired from Suburban Propane in 1991 after 33 years of service.
