Richard Weiser Clewell, 66, of Plainsboro died May 18 at home. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he retired as the superintendent of Sun Chemical in 2003 and worked at Whole Foods Markets from 2008 to 2008. He coached Cranbury/Plainsboro Little League, Wildcats Football, and PBA basketball.

Richard Walsh Bell, 85, of Holland, Pennsylvania died May 21. A Princeton native, he was a member of the Princeton Social Club. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart from the Battle of the Bulge. Bell was mayor of Montgomery Township in 1963. Allison Beth Seidel, 43, of Oakland, California died May 21. Survivors include her uncle, Irwin Simensky of West Windsor.

Josephine Kanda, 80, died May 23 at the Pavilions at Forrestal in Plainsboro. Bridget Burke Phelan, 70, of Princeton died May 23 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. She retired as a school nurse at the Upper Elementary School (now Millstone River School) in Plainsboro. Born in Ballycastle, County Mayo, Ireland, she trained as a nurse in London, and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of New Jersey.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Richard; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Gina of London, England; Peter and Ingrid of Glen Ridge, and Robert and Taryn of Middletown; three granddaughters; and two grandsons.
The funeral is Saturday, May 29, at 9:30 a.m. at the A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 North Main Street, Cranbury, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Hightstown. Calling hours are Friday, May 28, 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. at A.S. Cole Funeral Home. James L. Chambers Sr., 76, of Trenton died May 25 at Capital Health Systems – Fuld Campus. Born in Plainsboro, he attended Princeton High School.
Chambers served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion, Post 458.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Chambers of Trenton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James L. Jr. and Maritza Chambers of Florence and Mark A. Chambers of Jackson; and a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bill Maxwell of Bordentown; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-laws, Robert and Audrey Chambers of Pt. Pleasant, and Leona Chambers of Hamilton; and a brother-in-law, Harold Schell of Plainsboro.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 29, at 10 a.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Avenue, Ewing.
