Julia B. Manuel, 90, a former resident of West Windsor, died January 23 at The Pavilions at Forrestal. She was a member of West Windsor’s Twin W Rescue Squad, Princeton Friends Meeting, and a volunteer at Mercer Street Friends Center.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Arthur J. Manuel; a daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice and Stephen Francis; son and daughter-in-law, John and Janice; son, William; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Julia and Matthew Thomas; grandson and partner, John Francis and Timothy Stackhouse; and two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Zachary Thomas. Kathleen “Kiki” Krzywicki, 69, of Toms River, died February 19. Survivors include a daughter, Karyn Krzywicki of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lupus Foundations of America.

Christine Gadekar Winter, 62, of West Windsor died February 19. Born in Pearl River, New York, she was a graduate of Princeton High School in 1972, and received a bachelor’s degree at the New York School of Visual Arts.

She was a designer for Prentice-Hall; an associate art director with Tara (Hello) Design; a marketing manager with New Jersey School Board Association, publication manager of the New Jersey Office of Legislative Services, and an art buyer for Roger D. Winter Ltd.

Survivors include her husband, Roger; stepson, Matthew; her mother, Ruth Ann Johnson; and her sister, Elaine S. Warsinger. Donations may be sent to Homefront at www.homefront.org, or Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County at www.icgmc.org.

Ruth Ann Conner, 53, of Reading, PA, died March 2. Survivors include a son, David R. Conner of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604; or the Wounded Warrior Project, Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

Janet Rae Millen Schrock, 80, of Lawrence, Kansas, died March 4 in Kansas. A former resident of West Windsor, she graduated from Bethany College with a degree in music education and taught piano from her home.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Wayne Edwin Schrock; their three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas, Daryl and Denise, and David and Jennifer; three grandchildren, Ryan, Carly, and Logan; her brother and sister-in-law, Arlo and Sherry. Paul F. Nation, 90, of West Windsor died March 5 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, he served in the armed forces in Europe during World War II. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Northeastern University. He worked at Victory Plastics, United Shoe Machinery, and Columbia Cheese Corporation.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary; his children Susan Nation of West Windsor, Elizabeth Nation of Providence, Rhode Island, and Adam Nation of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Anthony Fraser of New York City, Alex Soifer of Los Angeles, California, Hannah Soifer of Providence, Rhode Island; and two step great-grandchildren, Zoe and Ella Jackson of Hillsborough. Janet E. (French) Garofoli, 78, of Clinton died March 5. Born and raised in Clinton, she graduated from Boston Children’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1957, and worked as a registered nurse for more than 40 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Garofoli of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to the Boston Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.

Helen T. Povilaitis, 87, a former longtime resident of West Windsor, died March 8 at Meadow Lakes in East Windsor. Born in Fountain Springs, Pennsylvania, she worked at Princeton High School for 30 years until her retirement in the 1980s. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Linda White of Andreas, PA, and sisters-in-law, Lois White of Fountain Springs, PA, and Dolores White of Nazareth, PA.

Bertha McCall, 60, of Plainsboro died March 9 at Pavillions at Forrestal. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Monica; brothers and a sister-in-law, Erby McCall and David and Nanette McCall.

Margaret Kirkwood Menzies Merrill of Skillman died March 9. Born in Richmond, Virginia, she lived in West Windsor from 1965 to 2010. A graduate of Mary Washington College with a degree in Spanish, she was a teacher for more than 40 years.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Jean Menzies and Joseph Pleasants of Ashland, Virginia; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Shirley Menzies of Mechanicsville, Virginia; and her sister-in-law, Janet Menzies; two daughters and son-in-law Margaret Elisabeth and John Walls of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Lynn Ann and David Cornell of Princeton; and grandchildren, Marjorie Kirkwood Cornell of North Brunswick and James Ellerson Cornell of Atlanta, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton. Donations may be made to Nassau Presbyterian Church, the Trenton Children’s Chorus, Crisis Ministries of Princeton and Trenton, or Centurion Ministries.

Kathleen Meyer, 81, of Milford, Delaware, died March 11. Survivors include her sister, Betty Tantum of West Windsor.

Joseph Scalzone, 84, of Somerset died March 14. A Navy veteran, he served during the Korean conflict. Survivors include a sister, Susan Arcuri of Plainsboro.
