James Marshall Gaines III, 48, of Plainsboro died May 13, in Philadelphia, PA (The News, May 15). Born in Point Pleasant, he was raised at the Jersey Shore, and had lived in Plainsboro for 15 years. He attended both Cornell and New York universities.
Gaines, a video software architect with Associated Press for more than 16 years, had received several technology awards. Gaines was involved with High School South’s Pirate Marching Band’s pit crew and was a member and supporter of the Chinmaya Mission/Vrindavan of Cranbury.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Jacqueline M. (Reinbold) Gaines; his children, Oliver and Anushka; his parents, James M. II and Carolyn (Koehler) Gaines of Oregon; his brother, Christopher Gaines of Shrewsbury, MA; and his sister, Denise Gaines of Portland, OR. A Celebration of Life service was held Thursday, May 28, at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal in Plainsboro.

Mary (Cervera) Frediani, 87, of West Windsor died May 15 at Capital Health Systems at Fuld in Trenton. Born in Princeton, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a secretary at Princeton University for many years. Survivors include Bambi, David, Gabby, and Matteo Szarka with whom she resided with for the past four years.
Keith Carl Beardslee, 82, of Endwell, NY, died May 16. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Thomas Coughlin of West Windsor. Donations may be made to Mercy House, Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, NY 13760.
Jean M. Kostue, 88, of Plainsboro died May 17 at home. She was a lifelong resident of Plainsboro.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Kathleen K. Rowland and Kim and John Holeman; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Stacey Kostue and Christopher and Lee Kostue; her grandchildren, Meghan and Kelly Holeman and Steven and Paul Kostue; her sister, Marilyn Murphy Logan; and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Lowe Murphy.
