Joan F. Tucker, 81, of West Windsor died February 4. Born in Hightstown, she was a secretary for Shangle & Hunt, Pullen Fuel Oil, and Thomas Coleman Fuel. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Theresa Tucker; two grandchildren, Anthony and Erika Tucker; her companion, William Stafford; and her brother, Richard Kollmar. Ruby Kate Owens, 84, of Plainsboro died February 8 in the Princeton Care Center. Born in Lagrange, Georgia, she moved to Plainsboro in 2012. A registered nurse, she was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross and cared for disabled adults. She also owned a beauty salon and restaurant.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah A. and Jodie Ballard; and a step-son, Peter Levi Owens; brother-in-law, Alton Warren; nieces, Jackie Mitchell, Willo Evans, and Linda Mitchell; and nephews Harry Evans and Will Evans.

Bruce Rosenblum, 87, of Santa Cruz, California, died February 9. Born in New York City, he was a former resident of West Windsor. An Army veteran, he received a PhD in physics from Columbia University.

Rosenblum worked in the RCA research laboratories on basic physics research and was also active in several commercial projects. During his decade at RCA, he was elected a fellow of the American Physical Society. Active in Democratic politics, Rosenblum was vice president of the West Windsor Democratic Club, and was elected Democratic township committeeman. He left industrial research to join the faculty at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1966. Over the years he served as chair of the physics department, acting provost of Stevenson College, acting dean of science, and chair of the academic senate.

His research included superconductivity, theoretical studies of magneto-reception in animals, and the foundations of quantum mechanics. He wrote “Quantum Enigma,” a book suited to a general audience and also used as a textbook.

Survivors include his children Susan Webster, John Rosenblum, and Anne Lintz; step-children Susan and Erik Nilsson; his sister, Bea Larsen; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Luvenia Thomas of Plainsboro died February 13. Survivors include her children, Darryl, Gail, and Jennifer Thomas; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service is Friday, February 21, at noon, at Bibleway Deliverance Center, 1149 East St. Georges Avenue, Roselle.

John D. McAuliffe, 59, of Forked River died February 14 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. Born in the Bronx, New York, he lived in Plainsboro for more than 30 years before moving to Forked River six months ago.

Self-employed as a maritime ship’s agent, he was owner of McAuliffe Maritime for more than 35 years. Survivors include his wife, Alison J. (Kallin) McAuliffe; his son, William; his mother, Phyllis Sustmann; his sisters, Jean Massie, Kathy Coffey, Nancy McAuliffe, and their families; and members of the Alessandrino and McLeanas families.

Matthew Tringali of Plainsboro died February 15, at Merwick Care & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he served in the Navy during World War II. He worked in sheet metal fabrication at Horlbeck Metal Crafts in Union City before retiring in 1984.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. and Renee Tringali of Harrington Park, and Glenn R. and Nancy Tringali of Monroe; sisters, Ida Steiler of Emerson, Martha Hoover of Michigan, and Diana Price, Sonia Williams, and Mary Jane Severini, all of Florida; four grandchildren, Michael and John Tringali, Heather Comstock and her husband, Matthew, Marissa Clark and her husband, Andrew; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Comstock.
