Robert Nelson was instrumental in the recent defeat of a new proposed U.S. nuclear weapon, the so-called Bunker Buster. He recently joined the staff of the Union of Concerned Scientists. Nelsen published the original research showing that the Bunker Buster (officially called Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrate) could not go deep enough to avoid killing tens of thousands of civilians.
His talk examines the administration’s proposal to build the Reliable Replacement Warhead.
