Fathers and their daughters are in for a special treat on Saturday, February 7. West Windsor Recreation is holding their annual Dads-Daughters Sweetheart Date Night at Millstone River School. The evening is geared toward girls ages five and up, includes a buffet dinner, games, dance competitions, prizes, and dancing. Old Trax DJ will play music from three decades and each couple receives a photo to commemorate the night.
This will be John Zummo’s fifth year attending the event with his daughter, Jillian, a fifth grade student at Village School. “It’s a lot of fun, and it’s great for a dad and his daughter to do something together,” he says.
Zummo, a salesman at Hermitage Press in Ewing Township, has been a volunteer fire fighter with West Windsor Fire Company Number One for 12 years. He and his wife, Kathleen, a retired engineer with the state of New Jersey who is co-president of the PTA at Village School and is a substitute teacher in the school district, moved to West Windsor 14 years ago.
Zummo says he’ll take his little girl every year, as long as she’ll go with him.
