Grover’s Mill Coffee House will be producing “Alien Origins,” a CD featuring the best of the monthly open mic sessions, to feature some of the area’s talent. One hundred percent of the money collected from the CD will benefit Grounds for Health, a charitable organization that focuses on screening women in coffee-producing third world countries where cervical cancer is the No. 1 killer of women. The organization also issues vaccinations to women as a preventative measure.##M:[more]##
“It’s an awesome cause that focuses its energy on the women who pick the coffee — that we enjoy every day — but are too poor to afford good medical care,” says Mickey DeFranco, co-owner of the coffee shop.
“To get onto the CD, your music will need to be an original song that you wrote and the music will need to be of studio quality,” says Franc Gambatese, co-owner. “We have several tracks left, so let me know if you are willing to donate your original song to a great cause.” There will be a place for information about you and your music and your photo on the CD cover.
Visit www.groundsforhealth.org for information about the organization.
