Lynne MacKnight of West Windsor had her story, “Chocolate Attack,” published in the newly-released “Chicken Soup for the Chocolate Lover’s Soul: Indulging in Our Sweetest Moments,” part of the “Soul Delectable” series featuring chocolate, coffee, tea, and wine, the latest books in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Macknight, a resident of West Windsor for 18 years, has three grown children and five grandchildren, three of whom are enrolled in the West Windsor-Plainsboro schools. A freelance writer, she has been published in the New York Times, Trenton Times, Princeton Packet, and Sandpaper, on Long Beach Island. “Of course, as a writer, I am always searching for new outlets for my work,” she says.
The Chicken Soup book, by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Patricia Lorenz, is a compilation and a tribute to the chocoholic’s undeniable passion for indulgence in all things chocolate. The stories include trivia, humorous anecdotes, and information to assist readers in selecting, preparing, and enjoying their favorite indulgence.
MacKnight’s story is about buying one bag of Hershey kisses in the supermarket — along with a cart full of healthy foods. Her intention was to eat just one or two, but as any chocolate lover knows, it is hardly possible. Her story ends with the following:
“I know it is not possible to eat one Hershey kiss, and I have three quarters of a bag still left in my pantry. I can better eat none than one, so I decided to put the rest of the bag in the freezer and when another chocolate attack grips me I’ll extract that bag from the freezer — and enjoy!”
