Birth

Paul and Eva Clements of Plainsboro are maternal grandparents to Jason Rocco, born August 31. He is the son of Michele and Sal Berardi of Woodland Park. Great grandparents include Diamonte Monticello of Plainsboro.

Births

The University Medical Center at Princeton has announced the following births:

A daughter was born to Plainsboro residents Amie and Gabriele Villarini, December 5.

Sons were born to Plainsboro residents Sukanya Krishnan Ramanoorthy and Muthukumar Athimoolam, December 5; and Kendy Cabrera and Alvaro Monterroso, December 7.

Deaths

Avery Teagan Daniels-Weber, three months old, of Monmouth Junction died November 29 in a car accident in Kentucky. Born at St. Peter’s Medical Center in New Brunswick, survivors include her father, Graham B. Daniels; grandmother, Michelle Daniels; and great-grandmother, Barbara Daniels, all of West Windsor. Her mother, Dana Michelle Bryer-Weber, and maternal grandfather, Nicholas Bryer Jr., also died in the accident.

Patricia Elaine Gillette, 55, of Columbus, Georgia, died December 1. Born in Princeton, she was raised in West Windsor. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Wayne and Takara Caldwell of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama; a brother, Rodney Caldwell of Arlington, Texas; a sister, Thomasena Burnett of Columbia, South Carolina; and a grandchild, Jalen Nelson.

Robert Barlow Sr., 84, of Avon, Connecticut, died on December 2 in the John Dempsey Hospital at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Born in Trenton, he was raised in Plainsboro, where his family operated Isaac Barlow and Son, a John Deere farm machinery business, where he worked until it closed. He later worked as an outside salesman for J.S. Woodhouse, a farm machinery wholesaler. He served in the Marines during World War II.

Survivors include his three children, Robert Jr. and his wife Cheryl, Sheila, and Bruce; his sister Diane Ambrose; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Donations may be made to the Butts-Clark Post 204 of the American Legion, 305 Main Street, Medina, NY 14103.

Joseph Hurshel Cleveland, Sr., 78, of Piscataway, died December 6. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Ella of Plainsboro.

Lorraine R. Lemons, 63, of Plainsboro, died December 7 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a licensed practical nurse. She was with Merrill Lynch for the past 31 years in various positions, including the position of retirement and benefits plan services specialist.

A founding member of the New Horizon Baptist Church in Groveville, she served as the church treasurer, the president of the Voices of Faith, the president of the Singles Ministry, and treasurer of the Women in Mission Ministry.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Nina; a brother and sister-in-law, Lamont and Cheryl; a nephew, Ahmad; one aunt, Annie Rozier; and a special cousin, Delores Rozier.

Robert F. Farkas, 76, of Skillman died December 9 at University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Piscataway, he lived in West Windsor before moving to Skillman in 1996.

The supervisor of groundskeeping at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick for 15 years before retiring in 1984, Farkas was also a self employed construction truck driver and was the owner of Hidden Spring Farm in Skillman.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Diane M. Beecher Farkas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Nils W. Carlson of Danville, California, and Marie and Steven Voorhees of Skillman; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Farkas, of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Michael Mohr, and Rosemarie and Joseph Konigsberger, all of Jackson, and Eleanor and Edward Mildner of Edison; three grandchildren, William and Caitlin Voorhees, and Alyson Farkas; and a great-grandson, Lucas Jon Voorhees. Richard P. Wehringer, of Edison, died December 9. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Tracy of Plainsboro

Barry Gordon Titterall, 62, of Raritan Township died December 9. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Della and Joe Francis Salerno of West Windsor. Donations may be made to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington 08822.

Jeffrey Lawrence Chiara, 64, of Robbinsville died December 11 at home. Born in New Brunswick, he was a longtime resident of Plainsboro before moving to the Hamilton/Robbinsville area 10 years ago.

A graduate of Trenton State College, he served in the Navy. Chiara retired in 2009 after 25 years of service as a financial analyst for the New Jersey State Health Department. He also taught business education, and coached girls softball and boys basketball at Jamesburg, Ridge, and Morristown high schools.

Survivors include his two sons, Jeffrey John Chiara of Cranbury and Vance Chiara of Lambertville; his former wife, Janine Chiara of Hamilton, and his cat, Snickers. Donations may be made to Tabby’s Place, 1100 Route 202, Ringoes 08551.

Harold Cymes, 82, of Hamilton died December 11 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he lived in West Windsor for 26 years before moving to Hamilton.

A graduate of high school at age 16, he enlisted in the Merchant Marine when he was 17. After finishing Officer’s Training School, he became a commissioned officer when he was 18 and sailed Navy tankers for three years. During the Korean War he was drafted into the Army where he was injured and lost his hearing. After graduating from Long Island University with both a bachelor and master degrees, he was a classified advertising manager in publishing with DCI Publishing in New York City for many years and retired at age 58.

A longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, he served as an elder and clerk and was a regular participant in mission trips and a strong advocate for the youth of the church.

Survivors include a brother, Bernard Cymes of Roosevelt Island, New York City; three nephews, and a niece. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, 154 South Mill Road, West Windsor. Calling hours are Friday, December 17, 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Barbara Goldman, 78, of Maywood died earlier this week. Survivors include her sister Ellen Alauskas of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of NJ or a children’s charity of your choosing. Shiva will be observed through Friday, December 17, at the residence of Linda and Scott Sommer, 560 Wyoming Avenue, Maywood.

Ferguson Hardin Reeves Sr., 85, of Lawrenceville died December 13 at his home. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Norman C. and Melissa Reeves of Plainsboro. Funeral is Saturday, December 18, at 9 a.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, with Rev. Jeffery Vamos, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, officiating. Visitation with the family follows. Donations may be made to Roebling Museum, 100 Second Avenue, Roebling 08554.

Juan Ortizz of East Brunswick died December 13 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Survivors include his daughter, Gina Ortizz of Plainsboro. Wedding

Steve Lucarelli and Suzie Nedza are planning an October 2 wedding. They are both graduates of Rider University. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Rocky and Donna Lucarelli of West Windsor. A graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, Class of 2000, he is a creative writer. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roman and Carmellia Nedza of Ewing. A graduate of Ewing High School, Class of 1999, she teaches art in the Eastampton School District.
