Dance Awards
Members of the newly-formed Dance Corner II Elite Team received high honors at the Starpower National Talent Competition held in Lawrenceville on April 2, 3, and 4. With both teams competing in tap and jazz routines, the Junior team received Gold Medals, and the Seniors were awarded Elite Silver Medals. This was their first competition as a team and now they have qualified to compete at the national level this summer in Ocean City, Maryland.
Senior jazz members include Plainsboro residents Amanda Troger, Alexa Hoyne, Alicia Wezel, and Jessica Fox. West Windsor dancers are Alison Durkee, Zarina Sanjana, and Danielle Sleeper.
Junior tap dancers are Plainsboro residents Caroline Bromberg, Nicole Montiero, and Katie Bromberg; and Kelly Markus of East Windsor.
Senior Tap dancers are West Windsor residents Jessica Shoenholtz, Elissa D’Abusco, Julia Perdigao, and Alison Durkee. Plainsboro dancers include Alexa Hoyne, Jessica Fox, and Amanda Troger.
Junior Jazz dancers are West Windsor residents Mollie Rubinstein, Lauren Leahy, Lauren McTigue, and Kelly Markus. Also, Victoria Campbell of Plainsboro.
Open auditions for the Dance Corner II Elite Team will be held at the Dance Corner II, 10 Schalks Crossing Road, Plainsboro, on Saturday, May 15. Call 609-799-9684 for information.
New Music
Ambrose Liu, a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, has recently released a new CD with his band Joss. “If Not For the Hovering” is available at cdbaby.com.
Daffodil Days
Princeton Chinese Language School participated in the American Cancer Society Chinese Division’s Daffodil Days event to raise funds for ACS. Christian Yang and Tracy Wang, students at the Chinese school, are also sophomores at High School South.
Mary Hull, Dutch Neck School’s learning consultant, travels to South Africa this summer for a program, sponsored by Rutgers University, connecting American education with South African scholars and students. The group will study the tenth anniversary of the end of apartheid and will be involved in study groups and community programs.
