The High School North boys’ track stars broke yet another record on June 20 — this time it was a New Jersey state record in the boys’ distance medley.##M:[more]##
Tyler Corkedale, Sean Reed, Ryan Sleeper, and Jim Rosa broke the state record of 10:00.9 set in 1983 after their run in 9:58.60 at the Nike Nationals, held at North Carolina A&T in North Carolina.
Corkedale ran the 1,”200 with a time of 3:05.33; Reed ran 48.07 for 400, and Sleeper ran finished with a time of 1:53.57 in the 800. Rosa finished in 4:11.65 for 1,”600.
Also at the Nike Nationals, Joe Rosa placed 12th, with a time of 9:12.41 in the two-mile race, and Corey Abernathy threw a 56-3.25 in the shot put to place 16th overall.
For the girls, Chelsea Walters placed 13th overall in the long-jump with a county-best of 18-3.75.
