The Arts Council of Princeton is set to kick off its annual Sauce for the Goose Holiday Art Sale with an opening reception Dec. 6.
American Boychoir is set to perform during the reception, which is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts.
The ACP’s annual sale features a mix of fine art and functional crafts, including paintings, drawings, functional and decorative ceramics, art glass, holiday ornaments, greeting cards, photography, jewelry, hand knit fashions, felted and beaded work.
Sauce for the Goose started 17 years ago as an invitational sale lasting a couple days, featuring work by Arts Council ceramics students.
The Arts Council’s sale, which takes its name from an old nursery rhyme “what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander,” provides income for local artists during the holiday season and raises funds to support the Arts Council’s programs.
The sale is scheduled to be open Dec. 6 – 21. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Arts Council is set to offer a special members-only discount. All ACP members will receive 10 percent off their total purchase throughout the duration of the sale.
ACP is also set to host several holiday workshops. This year’s offerings include Harvest for the Holidays: Botanical Arrangements Nov.16, Chinese Brush Painting: Autumn Flowers Nov. 16, Illuminated Letters Dec. 7 and 14, More Joyful Art Journaling Dec.7 and Felting for the Holidays Dec. 14).
