American Repertory Ballet is set to present revivals and world premieres at venues across the state this Spring.

The spring season features two performances of artistic director Douglas Martin’s Romeo and Juliet, the world premiere of Martin’s Firebird and the company premiere of Kirk Peterson’s Afternoon of a Faun.

ARB’s spring season opens with two performances of Martin’s full-length Romeo and Juliet, which premiered in October 2013. The first performance set for 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Berrie Center for the Performing and Visual Arts at Ramapo College in Mahwah. The second is 8 p.m. March 8 at The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg.

The world premiere of Martin’s Firebird is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 12 at McCarter Theatre in Princeton. The program also features Rite of Spring and Afternoon of a Faun. These ballets are inspired by the 20th-century works of Sergei Diaghilev’s revolutionary Ballets Russes.

ARB is set present Signature Duets: Dances of Daring and Devotion at Union County Performing Arts Center’s Hamilton Stage. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. March 21 and 2 and 7 p.m. March 22

Signature Duets features a world premiere by Trinette Singleton, former premier dancer of the Joffrey Ballet and choreographer of ARB repertory favorite Capriccios. The program also includes ARB resident Choreographer Mary Barton’s Fantasy Baroque and Gerald Arpino’s Confetti.

ARB is scheduled to perform Our Town 8 p.m. May 2 at the Crossroads Theater in New Brunswick. Set to the majestic music of Aaron Copland, Our Town is a ballet by Philip Jerry based on Thornton Wilder’s classic play.

The following evening, ARB will join Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, Cleo Mack Dance Project, tap dancer Maurice Chestnut, dancer Timothy Kochka and dance artist Claire Porter on stage at New Jersey Performing Arts Center as part of the Jersey Moves! Festival of Dance.

This annual performance festival brings together the best of the Garden State’s diverse dance companies.

ARB’s performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 3.

In addition to performances, ARB is set to present Behind the Music of the Ballets Russes 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at Princeton Public Library. Music scholar Simon Morrison and Martin are set to discuss the music of some of the most iconic ballets premiered by Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, including those that have been re-imagined by Martin and Kirk Peterson.

ARB’s annual gala is scheduled for March 15. This year, the organization is celebrating its 60th anniversary — also known as the diamond anniversary.

The Diamond Gala begins with at 6 p.m. with a performance at the Crossroads Theatre in New Brunswick, followed by a reception at 7:00pm, at the Heldrich Hotel, located across the street. The performance features dancing by the professional company, students of Princeton Ballet School and DANCE POWER Scholars.

This year’s gala honorees are Covance and Lee and Joseph Herring, for their support of ARB’s Nutcracker, and Princeton Ballet School faculty member Janell Byrne.
