West Windsor has begun to make progress on planned improvements to the Alexander Road S-Curve that was the site of a fatal accident last fall.##M:[more]##
In September Rebecca Giani Annitto was killed in a three-car collision in wet conditions at the s-curve, located between the Glen View development and the Delaware & Raritan Canal. Her estate, represented by attorney Albert Stark, has filed an intent to sue for $1 million in damages against the state, Mercer County, and the township.
Short term improvements include re-striping the road, due to be completed by the end of August, and additional lighting, which will be done before the end of the year.
Long term plans include a major overhaul and re-structuring the roadway to make it safer. Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh said, “”We have to get architectural plans, and we will have to acquire land to make the improvements. We’ll have to hire a contractor, and the improvements will be made in the next three years. These projects take time because there are many factors involved.””
