Nuran Nabi, author of “Bullets of ’71 — A Freedom Fighter’s Story” has a booksigning on Sunday, November 14, at 2 p.m. at Plainsboro Public Library. A resident of Plainsboro for 17 years, he is a township council member.
The book is about Nabi’s experience growing up in rural Bangladesh and living through the tumultuous episodes of the Bangladesh liberation movement and the liberation war. It follows him as he developed into a politically conscious student activist before transforming into a heroic freedom fighter in the Bangladesh Liberation War.
It is the story of men and women, young and old, students, farmers, bureaucrats, laborers, political activists, and defected Bengali soldiers of the Pakistani military. The book explores politics in China, the United States, the Soviet Union, and India, as well as decisions by world leaders.
At the book signing his son, Mush, a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, Class of 1998, will be with him. Books will be available for purchase. — Lynn Miller
