The West Windsor Plainsboro Dance Company presents “The Lost Princess,” an original story written by Roni Wilityer and Pat Shargo of West Windsor, on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29.
“It is a story about a princess who has a surprise birthday party and her princess friends from the surrounding kingdoms, along with a Prince, come to celebrate her special day,” Wilityer says. “After the party princess Aria cannot sleep and takes a walk in the garden and follows a beautiful butterfly into the forest. On her way home she spots a shiny object, it is an enchanted mirror. Aria gets pulled into the mirror and winds up in an attic in our world. Three sisters find her in the attic and the other princesses have to find a way to help her get back home.”
“This is a story I’ve had inside of me for a long time,” Wilityer says. “We decided to try something brand-new this year as we wanted really positive characters — not more scary villains. We had a lot of experienced dancers and were able to create seven solos.”
