The Lawrence Branch of the Mercer County Library System is sponsoring their fifth Annual Trashed Art Contest.
The contest, which is designed to encourage people to rethink trash and the possibility of transforming it into a work of art, is open to students in grades seven to 12 and adults who reside in Mercer County.
Artwork must include at least 75 percent recycle content, such as metal, paper, rubber, glass, plastic and cloth.
The deadline for entries is April 4. Entries must be delivered to the Lawrence Headquarters Branch Library, 2751 Brunswick Pike before 5 p.m.
Accepted art entries will be publicly displayed throughout the Lawrence Branch Library. Entries will be judged on Earth Day, April 22, and winners will be notified by phone or email.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in both adult and student categories.
More information, including contest guidelines and entry forms, is online at mcl.org.
