A lawn care course is set to being Feb. 6.
Basics of Successful Lawn Care is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 930 Spruce St., Lawrence.
Mercer County horticulturist Barbara J. Bromley is set to teach the four part course.
The first class, set for Feb. 6, is called Management Strategies and Selection of Grasses. Bromley is set to discuss basic grass requirements of light, water and soil,
Basic Maintenance Strategies is set for Feb. 13. Bromley is set to discuss mowing, edging, soil testing, fertilizing, liming and watering.
Pest Control is set for Feb. 20. Bromley is set to discuss identifying and controlling insects, diseases and weeds.
Troubleshooting, Lawn Renovation and Establishment is set for Feb. 27. Bromley is set to discuss common problems, damaged lawn renovation and establishing grass on bare soil.
The cost is set at $12 per class or $40 for the complete course.
Rutgers Cooperative Extension said registration for the class is required. Registration can be completed by calling (609) 932-5000, extension 584.
